Leading from a Community Management perspective at AKQA, whilst on secondment in Portland, Oregon, working with the senior leadership team at Nike HQ.

BACKGROUND

It's often said that life imitates art. In the case of the Nike Mag, this statement is especially true.

Inspired by the cult 1984 movie back to the future, starring Michael J. Fox, Nike's legendary design mind, Tinker Hatfield, brings to life the shoes from the film. All proceeds of a raffle were donated to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research.

IMPACT


The 'Last chance' Tweet received over 18.5 million impressions (leading to over 12,000 clicks to nike.com/mag), making it the most viewed organic Tweet ever, at the time, on @nike. Over $6.5 million was raised for the Michael J. Fox Foundation.
